COVID-19 impact on Immigration procedures
The current pandemic has had considerable impact on all departments with regards to immigration law. Indeed, IRB offices are currently closed to most hearings and all in-person delivery of documents until further notice. Most non-urgent hearings at the Federal Court have also been postponed. According to the Federal Court's latest Practice Direction and Order dated May 29th 2020, all hearings until July 13th 2020 have been cancelled and the Suspension period of the filing of documents has been extended until June 29th 2020. However, further amendments may be done by the Federal Court at the end of June 2020, should it deem it necessary. Additional information can be found on both the IRB and the Federal Court's official websites.
